[power-pro] Invisible bar

I have used PowerPro since Stiletto days, but now I am stuck with a basic problem.
On my desktop I have a number of bars, but when I export the command lists and import them to my laptop nothing appears. All I have on the laptop (which I had before export/import) is the original Bar which isn't much use to me.
I tried creating a new list and specifying start when PowerPro starts but to no effect. I've also tried a hotkey to initiate it but it refuses to appear.
It has worked for years on my desktop under Windows XP and recently Windows 7, and the laptop is Windows 10 but that shouldn't make a difference.
It must be something elementary but I'm baffled.

Make show show "Auto show as bar" is checked before exporting.

After you import, check that the new command lists are in the laptop config and that the autoshow option is check.

Check that the screen positions are compatible with your laptop screen dimensions.

Check that autohide is set to no hide.

Thanks for your reply, Bruce.
Auto show as Bar was checked. I'm not sure what you mean by "in the laptop config". And when you say "the autoshow option" do you mean again "Auto show as Bar"? If so, it is checked.
I think (I may be wrong) that compatibility of screen positions is not relevant as I have chosen Floating.
By "Autohide" do you mean "Hide after"? That is set to "no hide".
Still no bars. Except for the original Bar. How come that one appears even though "auto show as bar" is not checked?.

Avoid floating which sometimes goes wrong for newly created bars. Try some fixed position first, then switch to floating. Floating remembers last position which might be off screen to left or right or below on laptop screen. You can look at screen coordinates in text file if you want to see.

Lap top config just meant the config file pproconf.pcf for the laptop.

Instead of playing with position, you can also try ctrl-right clicking visible old bar and selecting show info for all bars which will show screen positions of all cls being shown as bars. You should be able to move to main display by selecting and clicking the button which does that.

In you last question: Are you showing old bar manually with eg Bar command?

Are you sure you are using right configuration file (ctrl-right click old bar and select configure command list then look for other command list) on dialog. The config file path is the one shown in the shortcut properties of the shortcut you use to start powerpro.

As always, avoid putting pcf in the exe file folder as this can mislead you about which pcf file windows is using.

I hadn't thought about multiple configuration files. When I changed to a different one the old Bar .disappeared, but there was a syntax problem which prevented PowerPro showing any bars.. I located the problem, deleted the offending line, made some other deletions and clicked Apply.
Now this is where I am confused. When I start PowerPro (even by clicking on the pproconf.pcf which corresponds to the Configure PowerPro address) I still get the syntax error message, but when I run pproconf.exe the changes have been made.
I've tried stopping and starting PowerPro and rebooting but the message will not go away..

Please let me know the exact message.
I am not sure what you mean by "clicking on the pcf". It is best bet is the use the shortcuts powerpro creates on install or via the setup tab on configure.

I am not sure how you set up double clicking to start powerpro, but if you get different results from using that, it is not using the same pcf file as the reliable, shortcut method.

I decided to go back to basics. I uninstalled PowerPro, reinstalled it, imported the required command list and it worked.
Many thanks for your help.
